Our people and our community are important to us.

We use the term ‘the Shampan Family’ to refer to all our team members. Many have been with us for decades and have just celebrated the thirty-fifth anniversary of the founding of our first restaurant. Now we have three restaurants and our family has grown.

However, even as we have grown and more people have loved our cuisine and our hospitality, we have been able to extend our family by working with and supporting several partners and good causes.

These are currently:

The Shampan Foundation – which works to bring positive change to young people in Bangladesh through the power of sport. We are currently running two educational scholarship programs and two girls’ football projects, providing young people with opportunities we often take for granted in our daily lives.

The Above and Beyond Bromley Business Awards (‘the ABBBAs’) – We sponsored the inaugural awards, which brought Bromley’s business community together, and we will continue to sponsor the 2024 awards ceremony, taking place on 7th November at Oakley House. It’s important for Shampan that, together, we celebrate the great work and positive energy within the business world in the Borough of Bromley and the local community.

The Asian Football Awards – Our founder, Sufian Miah, grew up playing and loving the game of football. However, the lack of guidance and representation for South Asians hindered him from pursuing a professional career, as it still does for many in the modern era. The Asian Football Awards do great work by highlighting and commending the talent within the South Asian community and recognising the barriers that have been broken to enter the professional football world. We all need to back initiatives like this for true change to happen.

The Bromley Buzz podcast, including their brilliant monthly, all-sector Bromley BuzzUp networking meetings, provides an opportunity to showcase our delicious cuisine at different venues in the London Borough of Bromley.

Bromley Common Cricket Club – Located near the Shampan restaurant on Chatterton Road, most of the club’s members and players are guests of Shampan. We show our support and appreciation for the club and the work they do in the community to make a mark for themselves and others.

Cherry Lodge Golf Club and Limpsfield Chart Golf Club – We are overwhelmed by the number of guests from both Cherry Lodge and Limpsfield Chart Golf Club who use Shampan. This gave us the opportunity to formally partner with both organisations, building relationships and working hand in hand. This allows us to host events at their venues and extend our gratitude to their members, giving them additional privileges when they visit any of our branches.

Welling United Football Club – Near our Shampan Welling branch, we proudly support Welling United Football Club, enjoying the chance to help our local football team, which means so much to so many, including young people and families. Working side by side in the community gives us the opportunity to build awareness and foster growth for both brands. Zidan Miah, the founder’s son, recently trained at the club during his rehabilitation after surgery for an Achilles rupture, before moving on to Rayo Vallecano in Madrid to pursue his childhood dream of becoming a professional footballer at an elite level.

The organisations we work with may change over time, but our commitment to the community remains steadfast. We are open to organisations and individuals visiting our restaurants to discuss the possibility of our support in the future.

Our restaurants are also excellent places for people and organisations to meet, socialise, and hold fundraising or other events. We are here to support those initiatives that help build a better future for everyone in the community.
