Our Story

The Shampan story has very humble beginnings with a group of family members wanting to open an intimate Indian restaurant in Chatterton Village, in Bromley, Kent, in 1989.

Little did they know to what extent the locals would welcome them with open arms, taking the establishment’s delicious cooking, it’s warm and friendly environment and convivial service to their hearts. The restaurant was such a success that its proven track record made the owners take another bold step by moving the restaurant to a much larger premises a mere stone’s throw away, 2002.

Good food and welcoming staff are often the back bone of a great restaurant. They are also the essence of what hospitality is all about.

With Shampan becoming such a celebrated household name for food lovers, it came as no surprise when in 2006 came the opening of Shampan Welling. The restaurant went from strength to strength and even went on to win a string of awards.

The rest as they say is history and yet for the Shampan Group, the best was yet to come!
